How smartlinks route every click to the best-paying offer, when they beat single offers, when they don't, and which networks to start with.

A smartlink is one affiliate URL that decides, click by click, which offer each visitor should see. Instead of picking a campaign and hoping it fits your audience, you hand the network your traffic and its algorithm routes every visit to the offer it expects to pay best for that country, device, OS and carrier.
That makes smartlinks the default tool for mixed, international and remnant traffic, and a poor fit for affiliates who want full control of one funnel. This guide is for media buyers, publishers with leftover inventory and new CPA affiliates deciding whether to run a smartlink, single offers, or both.

A smartlink is an offer rotator run by the network. You get a single tracking URL. Behind it sits a pool of offers, usually spanning several verticals such as dating, sweepstakes, mobile apps and utilities, surveys or finance. Every click that hits the URL is evaluated and redirected to one offer from that pool.
The important word is run by the network. You don't choose the offer, the landing page or the payout for a given click. Mobidea's own help centre puts it bluntly: the smartlink is an offers rotator, so expect dynamic payouts and varying performance. What you gain in reach and convenience, you give up in control and predictability.
Smartlinks are usually paid on a CPA or CPI basis like any other offer. The difference is that the payout per conversion changes with whichever offer won the click, so you judge a smartlink on rather than a fixed payout.

Under the hood, every major smartlink follows the same loop:
Because the model learns from the whole network's traffic, not just yours, a smartlink can monetise long-tail countries and devices that you would never test one offer at a time. The catch is that it needs data before it settles. Zeydoo, for example, recommends sending around 50,000 clicks a day for four to five days so the algorithm has enough signal to optimise.
The real decision isn't "smartlink or not" but where each tool belongs in your traffic.
| Smartlink | Single offer | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | One URL, no offer research | Pick offer, geo, landers |
| Control over funnel | Low: network picks offer and page | Full |
| Payout per conversion | Varies with the winning offer | Fixed and known |
| Best traffic | Mixed geos, devices and sources | Focused volume in one geo and vertical |
| Creatives needed | Often none: send traffic straight in | Usually yes |
| Data you learn from | Network-level EPC | Your own offer-level data |
| Caps | Rotates around capped offers | Traffic wasted once capped |
Single offers win when you've found a profitable segment: one geo, one vertical, one angle you can build a lander around. Smartlinks win on everything you can't, or don't want to, split into campaigns.
Most experienced media buyers don't choose. They split traffic:
These four networks are built around smartlinks. The table uses Affground listing data; confirm current terms in each network's dashboard before you commit traffic.
| Network | Smartlink focus | Minimum payout | Payment cycle | Referral program |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zeydoo | Multi-vertical: apps, utilities, sweeps, surveys, finance | $100 | Bi-weekly | No |
| LosPollos | Dating, mainstream and adult | $10 | Weekly | 5% |
| TORO Advertising | Multi-vertical, alongside single offers | $50 | NET-15 | 4% |
| Mobidea | Mobile mainstream, push, CPI, dating, adult | €50 | NET-7 | No |
Zeydoo comes from the team behind PropellerAds and suits high-volume push and pop buyers (it doesn't accept adult or bot traffic on its smartlink). LosPollos is the low-threshold pick for dating and adult traffic, and pairs naturally with our dating affiliate programs list. TORO gives you a smartlink plus managers who help with geo and creative choices. Mobidea offers six smartlink types and good training material for affiliates learning mobile media buying.

A smartlink is a monetisation engine, not a strategy. It's the right first move for mixed traffic and the right safety net once you've found winners, but the affiliates who earn the most use it to discover segments and then graduate those segments to single offers they control. A smartlink is a single affiliate URL run by a network that automatically sends each visitor to the offer it expects to pay best for that visitor's country, device, operating system and carrier.
It reads signals from each click, such as geo, device, OS, carrier and browser, estimates which offer in its pool is most likely to convert for that segment, redirects the visitor, and feeds the result back into its model.
Not across the board. Smartlinks suit mixed, international or leftover traffic and need no offer research. Single offers win when you have a proven geo and angle and want a fixed payout and full control of the funnel.
Because a smartlink rotates offers, each conversion pays whatever the winning offer pays. Judge it by earnings per click (EPC) over a meaningful volume rather than by a single payout figure.
Enough for the algorithm to learn. Zeydoo, for example, recommends around 50,000 clicks a day for four to five days. Low-volume sites usually do better with hand-picked, relevant offers.
Pop, push, in-app, native and social traffic from mixed geos and devices, plus remnant or backfill traffic. Each network sets its own rules, so check whether adult, incentivised or other traffic types are allowed.
Yes, and most experienced media buyers do. Run single offers on proven segments and send everything else, including clicks after a single offer hits its cap, to the smartlink.
